Andie's birthday

Andie is 3!!! I can't believe that I have a three year old. It is so crazy how fast the past three years have gone by! Andie's birthday is on September 11th. I remember being in labor in the hospital just waiting for her to grace us with her presence. It was the 5 year anniversary of 9-11-01. The only thing on T.V was videos of sept. 11th and everyone remembering what had happened. The day we were in the hospital was a day of sadness for the rest of the world but it was a day of happiness for me and Landen and it always will be. Andie's due date actually was on September 11th but I didn't actually think she was going to be born on that day. Not very many people actually have their babies on their due dates but that is the day she wanted to come. When I would tell people her due date they would always say "Really? Well you don't have to worry you won't have her on your due date." I always laugh when I think about that.
We decided to take Andie to Pirate Island on her birthday and she got to bring one friend with her. We had a lot of fun their. The food was actually pretty good. Andie keeps asking us if we can go eat with the pirates. The day after her birthday we had both of our families come over and we had cake and ice cream. It was a fun weekend.

This is right after she woke up on her birthday. I decorated her room while she was sleeping. That morning I walked by her room thinking she was still sleeping and as I walked by she yelled, "MOM!!! Look!!" She was so excited. She had probably been awake for a while but didn't leave her bed because she didn't really know what to do with all of that stuff in her room. That whole weekend she kept saying she had a birthday room and had to show everyone.

This is what she got right when she woke up.

We all had so much fun celebrating Andie's birthday, especially since she knew what was going on this year. It was fun to see her get excited. We missed my parents though, but they called Andie a couple of times to tell her Happy Birthday.

Fundraiser

On August 22nd my siblings and I held a fundraiser to raise money for our Dad's cancer treatment. When my Dad found out he had cancer he imediatly starting researching his different options of treatment. He decided the best treatment for him would be at a place in Atlanta Georgia. The only problem that they kept coming across was the money they would have to pay for this treatment out of pocket. When it came down to it that was the ONLY thing keeping him from getting the treatment. We told my parents not to worry about the money. We wanted our Dad to get the treatment that he needed and we felt money should not be the reason he doesn't. We told them that we would do whatever we needed to so he could go to Georgia
Honestly I thought we were going to have to do this fundraiser, a fundraiser dinner, a yard sale and anything else we could think of doing. We decided to start with a fundraiser day and then go from there. All I did for 6 weeks straight was prepare for the fundraiser. I had SO MANY people help me with so much. In that 6 weeks I learned a lot. One of the things that touched me so much was I got to see how kind and giving people are. My friends were so willing to help without even thinking about it and even complete strangers. I had a lot of sleepless nights worrying about what I needed to do and also thinking about all of these amazing caring people so willing to help our family even if they didn't know us. Everyday we would get donations and people volunteering to help us with whatever we needed. I want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for your kind and giving hearts and for using your talents to help us. By the end of the night of the fundraiser I was so overwhelmed with gratitude (and surprised everything went so well) and I was also very ready to go to sleep. The night before I had planned on going to bed around 10 to get a good nights rest but then it was 5:30 am by the time I was done with everything and I had planned on waking up at 5:45 or 6:00 so I thought it would be best just to stay awake. There is NO WAY I could have only slept for a half hour or even a hour. It was easier just staying awake. Needless to say I was not really with it the whole day......which was probably a good thing.

Landen took all of these pictures with his cell phone since we didn't have a camera.
The day went so well! While we were planning for this we all thought that maybe we could raiser 2-3 thousand dollars (that is why we were planning on doing several other things). At the end of the night after counting the money we had raised 8,500 dollars!! My parents were in complete shock. You could instantly see a huge burden lifted from them. When all was said and done we ended up raising over 10,000 dollars. People were still sending money in the mail and giving us money. We had a goal to raise 10,ooo dollars and with the kindness of everyone we did it.
My parents are in Georgia right now and my Dad is recieving his treatments 5 times a week. They will come home right before Halloween. I am really close to my parents so it has been hard while they have been gone but I know they are where they need to be right now and I happy they can be there.
I am so thankful and feel so blessed for people charitable hearts and christ like service. This wouldn't have been possible without all of you that helped us. I just can't say thank you enough. Also thank you to all of those who came out to the fundraiser and supported us!

July

In July we had a lot going on. It was our four year wedding anniversary on the 29th. Yay! We couldn't celebrate the night of becuase Landen had scouts. On friday night our awesome friends Heidi and Jason watched our little ones so we could go to a dinner and a movie. On Monday we went with some of our friends (brian and shelly) to see a play called "The Fantastics" up at the out door thearter at sundance. It was really good and I liked that it was outside. Before we went to the play we went to Glorias little Italy to eat and none of us were really happy with it. We probably won't be going back there again. I have heard so many good things about it so we were a little disapointed.
The third week in July we blessed Logan. Landens Mom made his blessing outfit. He looked so cute. We didn't have a camera then because we broke ours so we had other people take pictures. I will post them later. We had a breakfast at our place after. There were a lot of people here. Good thing we have a backyard. It was a really good day for our little Logan and it was really good to see our family and friends.
The 24th of July we went to Landens Aunts and Uncles for a BBQ and then we went to an owlz game. Baseball games have been really fun to go to this year because Landen can actually sit with us and enjoy the game. Andie didn't like the fireworks afterwards though.
We had a really good month of July and it was even better because Landen didn't have school this summer so we got to see more this summer than we have since Andie has been born. It was so great!!

July 4th

For the fourth this year we didn't do anything special. We spent the day going shopping around to different places. For fireworks we went to the church parking lot with some friends and lit some fireworks. Andie really really liked it a lot. She likes the little fireworks a lot more then the bigs ones in the sky. She doesn't like those ones so much.

Zions National Park

Wow.....it has been a long time since I have blogged. It has been so crazy busy around our house lately. July 6th-8th we went down to Zions for landens grandparents 50th wedding anniversary/family reunion. It was so much fun and good to see everyone. We only got a few pictures. Our camera was broken on this trip so we went a couple of months without taking pictures. Which was sad for me since Logan is changing so much and so fast. I am just happy we finally got a camera!! Here are the few pictures we got.
